My actual little brother came to live with me for a few months in 2007 and he played "The Minstrel Show" at our apartment and instantly I was like "Yo who the fuck is this?!" he was like "What? You dont know about these cats? They about to be your favorites, watch." He wasnt lying I bumped all the LB's FOR YEARS and still do check for them to this day. They in my Top 4 of Hip Hop groups of all time (Tribe, Wu-Tang, EPMD, Little Brother). Saw them perform live once here in Seattle and it was great. I went through some tough times from 2007-2014 or so and to say LB helped carry me through it would be an understatement.

In my opinion, that makes his accomplishments as a published poet, a professor and being recognized for his contributions to literature that much more notable.

My great, great, great grandpa was a Gunner in 5th Virginia Heavy Artillery, and was present at Appomattox at the end of the war. Seeing this in a way was very surreal, and very enjoyable. What'd I'd give to have a conversation with that man lol. Now I understand why my reenactor buddies enjoy it so much. Damn near a decade late, but thanks for the video, even if I am this late lol.
